Crews will begin construction of the CV Link pathway from the Palm Springs Visitors Center along Highway 111 to the recently completed section of pathway along the Whitewater River Stromwater Channel levee. This work will include street and crosswalk improvements along with replacing of the existing sidewalk and landscaping along Highway 111 adjacent to the communities of Mountain Gate and Palm Springs Villas II. 

CV Link is a 40-plus mile pathway that is being built across the Coachella Valley to provide a safe route to walk, run, bike or use low-speed electric vehicles, such as golf carts. CV Link is expected to provide significant environmental, public health, and economic benefits to generations of current and future residents and visitors to our valley.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Noise & Vibrations – Residents along Highway 111 may experience periodic construction related noise or vibrations. Construction activities such as soil compacting, excavations, moving heavy machinery, etc., can cause ground borne vibrations that can physically be felt by neighboring properties.

Lane Closure & Traffic Control – A single lane closure on northbound Highway 111 is planned during construction with flaggers to help direct traffic. Please use alternate routes and plan ahead for delays.

Sidewalk Closure – Along Highway 111 from Tramview Road to the Whitewater River Stormwater Channel.

Construction crews will be improving the sidewalk and installing new ADA curb ramps on the north side of Vista Grande to connect to the CV Link pathway that runs along the Whitewater River Channel. This work along with the repaving of Vista Grande will be the last of the major improvements to be done and marks a major milestone as we near the completion of the CV Link project later this Spring.

Construction crews will be paving the pathway within the Whitewater River Channel adjacent to Four Seasons from Sunrise Way to Desert Breeze Way on February 26-28th. Starting in early March, paving of the channel ramps located in the northwest and northeast corners of Four Seasons will occur. In mid-late March, crews will be filling in gaps with smaller hand pours along the pathway within the channel. Looking ahead to April and May, will be the installation of solar pathway lights and signage as we near project completion.

Noise – Residents along Mesquite Ave may experience construction related noise during the day.
